Premier League Preview – Kenthurst

In 2017, The Hills Football Premier League Mens 1 competition will see 8 teams battle it out for the honors of our inaugural champion. Leading into round 1, we will be previewing each of the teams.

The Hills Football Premier League 1 sees 3 champions from 3 different associations come into one. The “BushBoys”,  champions from GHFA Kenthurst & District preview their chances for the season.

The Kenthurst & District Football Club enters new territory in 2017, joining the Hills Association after a hugely successful period in the Gladesville Hornsby Football Association. The club, celebrating its 50th year, wrapped up the 2016 minor premiership and premiership in both first grade and reserve grade. Between 2006 and 2016, the club took home over 10 trophies, and featured in a final and semi-final of the Champions of Champions competition.
The bulk of last year’s squad return for the 2017 season, with club captain Tom Geekie leading a squad mixed with experience and youth. Long-term players Luke Roodenburg, Pearce McGuiness and last year’s GHFA Golden Boot winner, Tim Simpson, will be joined in 2017 by the likes of returning Kenthurst junior Jake Carpenter. Player/Coach Graeme Forbes, who joined Kenthurst last year after captaining Manly United in the National Premier League, will look to hit the ground running in their first season in the Hills Association. While the achievements on the park are something to be very proud of, The Kenthurst Premier League squad is built on a foundation of Friendship & Loyalty. Life Member Sean McGuinness has been the most active person to have built this culture and something the club hopes to continue on.”

Kenthurst host Baulkham Hills FC at Kenthurst Park on Saturday. Kicks offs 1pm Res, 3pm 1st Grade.
